Trial Specialist

As a Trials Specialist, you’ll play a key part in our R&D team, designing, implementing, and reporting on field and glasshouse trials for new and existing products. You’ll help drive product innovation and ensure our research programme is delivered to the highest standards.

• Design, implement, and report on field and glasshouse trials, including competitor products and experimental processes.
• Manage your own trials: stock control, product application, data collection, digital capture (photos, drone), and record keeping.
• Analyse and interpret trial data, presenting results at annual reviews.
• Ensure all work meets ORETO/GFP standards and company EH&S policies.
• Liaise with R&D, Marketing, and Production teams to support product innovation and feedback.

• Degree (or equivalent) in a science discipline, ideally biological.
• Minimum 4 years’ recent experience in research and trials for registration purposes.
• Strong skills in experimental design, statistics, and report writing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with ARM and drones is a plus.
• Full driving licence and good practical horticultural skills.
• Organised, methodical, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexible to work weekends on a rota and physically capable of manual work.
