Overtime: (After 3 months) Organised rota - Nights on call required and weekends, both on a payment plan

As a Trainee Transport Operator at Maze Logistic Solutions, you will support the day to day coordination of our container haulage operations across Felixstowe, Southampton and London Gateway. You will work closely with our planners, customer service teams and drivers to ensure goods move efficiently, safely and on time. This is a hands on, fast paced role suited to someone organised, proactive, and keen to build a career in logistics.

• Assist in the allocation of daily jobs, ensuring drivers are assigned efficiently based on location, workload and compliance hours.
• Support the maintenance of the transport documents, updating in real time as delays, cancellations or changes occur.
• Create CBS bookings
• Help ensure maximum utilisation of Maze vehicles while maintaining service quality.

• Act as a first point of contact for drivers during their shifts.
• Provide clear instructions, briefings and operational updates.
• Escalate any issues (delays, breakdowns, refusals, missed slots, etc.) to the Commercial Team.

• Support the Customer Care team by providing updates on vehicle progress, delays, and POD requests.
• Help ensure all customer communication is clear, timely and professional.
• Liaise with ports, depots and third-party suppliers to resolve operational queries.

• Update systems with accurate job statuses, timestamps, container numbers, seal numbers and PODs.
• Assist with debriefing drivers at the end of shift.
• Contribute to maintaining compliance with DVSA, RHA and internal Maze SOPs.

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills (clear, confident and calm).
• A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn.
• Ability to work as part of a fast-moving operations team.
• Experience with in a transport office, haulage company or logistics environment.
• Knowledge of ports, container haulage, VBS systems or driver hours regulations.
