The City of Iqaluit is looking for Casual Building Custodians for the Iqaluit Aquatic Centre!

Salary: 29.79 per hour

Settlement Allowance: $11.48 per hour

This employment opportunity is open to Iqaluit Residents.
The successful candidate must be able to work a variety of shifts.

Under the direction of the Guest Services Supervisor, the Building Custodian will perform janitorial duties at the Aquatics Centre. They will be responsible for keeping the facilities clean and sanitary. This includes mopping floors, pool deck and pool areas, polishing floors, dusting, washing windows, walls and garbage receptacles, cleaning change rooms, washrooms and cleaning up garbage both indoors and outdoors. The Building Custodian will also shovel entrances as required.

The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining records including inventory of products and completing cleaning logs. They will be responsible for following WHMIS guidelines.

The Building Custodian must have previous experience performing janitorial work as described above. CPR/First Aid certification and WHMIS training are required. The incumbent must be punctual and in good physical condition with the ability to lift up to 30lbs. The shift schedule will vary for this position. Assets include the ability to communicate in Inuktitut.

Due to the nature of the position, the successful candidate must provide a clear Criminal Reference and Vulnerable Sector check, as well as a clear TB test.
