Senior Mechanical Building Services Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Building Services Engineer to join our facilities team at West Middlesex University Hospital in Isleworth. This is a permanent full‑time position working 40 hours per week, from 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday.

Role
  • Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Providing technical engineering support within the Hard FM Services department by carrying out preventive maintenance to deadline and maintaining paperwork to support PPM activities.
  • Responding to reactive and emergency faults and conducting reactive maintenance work to ensure compliance with KPIs.
  • Managing sub‑contractors as necessary, working within a safe system of work and permit‑to‑work system.
  • Undertaking AP/RP duties for the disciplines for which you have been appointed.
  • Participating in the out‑of‑hours on‑call rota and being able to respond/attend the site within one hour of the call.
The Person
  • Hold a recognised mechanical trade apprenticeship and/or relevant qualifications to level 3 (theory and practice) in a relevant mechanical discipline with suitable industry experience; AP in HV desirable.
  • Previous supervisory and mentoring experience essential.
  • Experience in building services maintenance is essential.
  • Willingness to attain cross‑skilling and IT literacy.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Demonstrate good planning, organising and prioritising skills.
  • Ability to show examples of using initiative and judgement to resolve problems.
  • Experience in a healthcare environment an advantage.
  • Good understanding of health & safety best practice; formal training an advantage.
