AI Engineer, Data Analyst
Summary
Senior leader responsible for shaping and delivering Sky’s future-facing strategy for organic discoverability across all digital channels — from traditional search engines to emerging AI-powered platforms . This role leads Sky’s centre of excellence for SEO and engine readiness, ensuring our content, data and platforms are optimised to be found, understood and ranked by the engines of today and tomorrow.
Working across Sky, NOW and the wider Comcast/NBCUniversal group, this role combines deep technical expertise, data-driven optimisation and a strategic vision for AI-enhanced discovery. This role will partner closely with Product, Engineering, Editorial, Martech and Data Science teams to drive visibility, engagement and conversion through intelligent content architecture and engine-aligned innovation.
A critical and visible leadership role, it provides senior counsel to executives and plays a key part in ensuring Sky stays ahead of search and discovery trends in a rapidly evolving landscap e.
What you'll doLead Sky’s Search & Engine Readiness Strategy Across All Digital Properties
- Own and evolve Sky’s strategy for organic discoverability across traditional search (Google, Bing) and emerging surfaces (AI-powered assistants, vertical engines, voice, You Tube, in-platform search).
- Define and deliver a future-facing vision of engine readiness — optimising Sky’s content, metadata, site architecture and structured data to be surfaced by engines of the future, not just today.
Champion AI-Driven Content and Data Strategy
- Work with product, data science and editorial leads to shape content and metadata strategies that maximise visibility in AI-powered environments (e.g., SGE, ChatGPT, Gemini, Alexa).
- Partner with Martech and data engineering teams to leverage structured data, schema.org , and NLP tagging for smart surfacing and semantic discoverability.
Leadership & Senior Engagement
- Act as the senior thought leader and subject matter expert in search and AI-readiness across Sky, representing the function in cross-business and Comcast-wide forums.
- Regularly brief Sky’s senior leaders on performance, risks and opportunities in organic visibility and discovery.
- Align with NBCUniversal, Peacock and Comcast global stakeholders to ensure cross-market engine strategies are consistent and mutually beneficial.
Experimentation and Continuous Optimisation
- Lead a roadmap of hypothesis-driven SEO and engine-readiness experimentation — from algorithmic crawl and index testing to behavioural analysis of how engines interpret and rank Sky’s content.
- Champion a “test and learn” approach in collaboration with Sky’s Experimentation and Analytics functions.
Technology, Platforms & Engineering Collaboration
- Partner with product and engineering teams to ensure best-in-class site performance, crawlability, UX signals and compliance with search engine guidelines.
- Own the tooling and platform strategy for SEO, including partner selection, budget, and contract optimisation.
Editorial & Content Influence
- Collaborate with Editorial, Content and PR teams to deliver search-optimised storytelling, technical enhancements and data-informed content commissioning.
- Guide implementation of AI-assisted content creation, briefing and optimisation where appropriate.

- Exceptional SEO and discoverability expertise : solid experience & deep understanding of how engines parse, interpret and rank content across web, video, apps and AI surfaces.
- Strong technical acumen : evidenced experience partnering with engineers and product managers to optimise infrastructure, site speed, schema and data integrations.
- AI & future-of-search awareness : proven capability in navigating the evolving landscape of search, generative AI, and voice-based discovery.
- Influential cross-functional leader : proven ability to engage credibly at C-level and influence across complex matrix structures (e.g., Marketing, Product, Data, Engineering, Editorial).
