Good Morning,

I am currently representing Islington Council, who are offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 3-6 months with a view to be extended or offered a permanent position for the right candidate at a rate which is negotiable dependent upon experience

We are looking for a Digital Communications Officer this role will be: N1 2UD
Hybrid

The right candidate will:

* To plan, lead, deliver and evaluate digital communications campaigns that support the objectives set out in the council’s Strategic Plan.

* To support the implementation of the digital communications and engagement strategy that ensures council services take advantage of the opportunities and benefits digital channels offer.

* To develop and grow users and subscribers to the council’s digital channels, particularly social media and email marketing.

* Help to manage social media, website, and email enquiries from residents and staff, and respond to these in a timely way to help protect the council's and team’s reputation.

* To ensure digital channels and content meet accessibility legislation and requirements.

* To generate ideas to improve digital communications channels and content, ensuring the council stays relevant in an ever-changing environment.

* To individually generate content and work with others to do so, such as web or intranet content, video filming and editing, social media and email copy, etc.

* To work with Strategic Campaigns Advisors and services to deliver integrated forward plans, ensuring work and projects are presented to residents, businesses, staff and stakeholders in a coordinated way that is connected to the council’s key missions and objectives.

* Supporting the development of the council’s digital, brand and creative, public affairs, and engagement functions through close collaboration and working within the team.

We require the following:

* Experience of digital communications methods, such as email marketing, social media marketing, website, and intranet management.

* Experience of managing digital channels and coordinating and developing effective and engaging content for them.

* Knowledge of best practice in digital communication principles, authoring standards, website design, accessibility, usability, user journeys, navigation and information architecture, and proficiency in the use of web information architecture presentation (sitemaps, wireframes, storyboards).
