Environmental Health and Safety; EHS Specialist & Reporting Officer

What you will do

As an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist at Johnson Controls, you will be at the forefront of implementing environment, health, and safety (EHS) policies and programs. Reporting directly to the EHS Manager in Istanbul, your role will involve advising the organization on regulatory changes, investigating minor incidents, and ensuring that risks are effectively addressed for our office, facility management and aftermarket teams.

You will oversee EHS reporting and documentation in compliance with both internal and external standards. Additionally, you will supervise and participate in the development and delivery of training programs for employees on EHS policies, procedures, and regulations.

• Implement and maintain EHS policies and programs.
• Advise the organization on regulatory changes and compliance requirements.
• Investigate minor incidents and ensure appropriate risk mitigation measures are in place.
• Conduct hazard identification, risk assessment, and Job Safety Analysis to mitigate potential risks in the workplace.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop policies, procedures, and training programs related to food safety.
• Oversee EHS reporting and documentation to meet internal and external standards.
• Develop and deliver training programs on EHS policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Collaborate with EHS supervisors and other stakeholders to ensure a safe working environment.
• Ensure continuous improvement of HSE performance by conducting regular audits.

Required

• University degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Certification as a Class B Occupational Safety Expert.
• Experience in hazardous or highly hazardous area.
• Knowledgeable about the Occupational Health and Safety Law No. 6331 and its regulations.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an EHS role.
• Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and standards.
• Excellent communication and training skills.
• Ability to investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Proficiency in EHS reporting and documentation.
• Current valid driver licence.
• Open to taking business trips out of Istanbul a few times a month.
