Position
Battery Test Engineer for an important deep‑tech start‑up in Milan that develops and markets an innovative redox flow battery for energy storage, using abundant, low‑cost materials.

Role Overview
The successful candidate will play a hands‑on role (lab‑lover) focused on rigorous experimentation, solid electrochemical interpretation and structured R&D planning.
Responsibilities

Plan and perform electrochemical experiments on cells/stacks to evaluate performance, kinetics and degradation
Perform data analysis such as efficiency/resistance analysis, ageing trends, reproducibility checks
Support the planning and interpretation of Design of Experiments
Maintain and improve test methods (e.g., EIS, CV, chrono techniques, polarisation curves)
Collaborate with chemistry, mechanical, automation teams and contribute to the planning and reporting of research and development activities, maintaining a strong focus on laboratory documentation

Job Requirements
Mandatory skills

Degree in Electrical/Chemical Engineering
At least 3 years of experience in activities related to chemical/materials science or electrochemistry (PhD years will also be considered if relevant)
Solid foundation in electrochemistry and ability to critically interpret experimental data
Practical laboratory and documentation skills

Optional Skills

PhD in energy storage, electrochemistry, materials science or closely related fields

Experience with flow batteries or alkaline electrochemical systems
