Your Role And Responsibilities
As an SAP ABAP Backend Developer, you will design, develop, and maintain backend solutions within SAP environments. You will work closely with functional consultants, architects, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable, and compliant SAP enhancements and integrations.

Responsibilities

Develop, optimize, and maintain ABAP programs, including reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, and forms (RICEF).

Create and maintain backend services such as OData services, API integrations, and RFC/BAPI developments.

Analyze functional requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions.

Perform debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization of ABAP code and SQL queries.

Support SAP modules (e.g., FI/CO, MM, SD, HR, etc.) with custom developments and enhancements.

Ensure compliance with SAP best practices, security standards, and naming conventions.

Collaborate with functional teams to validate deliverables and support UAT and production deployments.

Participate in code reviews, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Contribute to migration or upgrade projects (e.g., ECC to S/4

HANA) including CDS views, AMDP, and HANA‑optimized ABAP.

Provide technical support during incident resolution and change management processes.

Preferred Education
Bachelor's Degree

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

Extensive experience in ABAP development, including:

Reports (Classical, ALV)

Forms (Smart Forms, SAPScript, Adobe Forms)

Interfaces (IDoc, RFC, BAPI, Web Services, OData)

Conversions (Data Migration, LSMW, BDC)

Enhancements and Modifications (User‑Exits, BADI, Enhancement Points)

Strong knowledge of SAP Net Weaver, ABAP Workbench, and Eclipse‑based ABAP development.

Experience with performance optimization, debugging, and troubleshooting ABAP programs.

Familiarity with SAP HANA, CDS Views, AMDP, and HANA‑optimized ABAP development.

Preferred Technical And Professional Experience

Experience in agile software development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).

Exposure to global SAP projects or multi‑country rollouts.

Experience mentoring junior ABAP developers or leading small development teams.

Strong business process knowledge in SAP modules relevant to the organization (e.g., Finance, Supply Chain, HR).
