Software Development Engineer, Trust Sensitive Content And Intelligence, Trust Sensitive Content & Intelligence
Trust Sensitive Content Intelligence team leverages natural language understanding, machine learning, and big data to help Amazon Devices identify sensitive content. We are looking for a talented Software Development Engineer who can ensure that customers continue to have fun engaging conversation with Alexa.
We are a highly collaborative, fast moving, and fun team. Our ideal candidate is highly autonomous, possesses strong written and verbal communication skills, strong sense of ownership, adapts quickly to new technologies, and has high career growth potential. The desire and ability to work in a fast paced, collaborative environment is essential. Candidate should have a solid understanding of software design principles, a demonstrated track record of delivering new features and passion for innovating on behalf of customers.
Candidates don’t need to have expertise in natural language understanding or machine learning but should have curiosity about it. They value collaboration, data-driven decision making, learning, and can comfortably communicate with others, in both technical and non-technical roles.
Key job responsibilities
Own feature enhancements end to end, collaborate with product and science, design, develop and launch in production.
Participate in design reviews/code reviews and contribute to the teams deliverables.
Work on maintaining existing services.
Deliver customer value in an iterative fashion while working towards longer term systems goals.
Help shape the growth of secure data services.
Implement automation tools for monitoring and measuring data quality, with associated interfaces.
Mentor junior engineers.
A day in the life
As a member of the team you will be responsible for design, development and launch of new features. You will be required to participate with other senior engineers and peers in developing the overall system architecture, contribute the review of design and code of peer engineers and mentor freshers/junior engineers. You will also work on high availability, security compliance and maintenance of our existing services.
Basic Qualifications
3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
