Role OverviewThe SURF Engineer will support the planning, engineering, and execution of Subsea, Umbilicals, Risers & Flowlines (SURF) scopes for an offshore development project. The role provides technical assurance across design, fabrication, installation, and commissioning activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, international standards, and local regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities Engineering & Design- Support the development, review, and verification of SURF engineering deliverables, including:
- Flowline and pipeline design
- Riser systems
- Subsea structures and umbilicals
- Tie‑in systems and associated hardware
- Participate in design reviews (HODs, HAZIDs, HAZOPs, constructability, operability).
- Ensure design aligns with project requirements, classification standards (e.g., DNV, API), and Indonesian regulations (e.g., MIGAS/SKK Migas).
- Provide engineering support during fabrication, testing, load‑out, and installation.
- Liaise with installation contractors on vessel readiness, method statements, procedures, and offshore schedules.
- Monitor contractor performance and progress, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and technical specifications.
- Support offshore execution as required, including mobilization, on‑deck verification, and installation follow‑up.
- Ensure engineering work meets safety, integrity, and quality standards.
- Assist with deviation requests, technical queries (TQs), and change management.
- Work closely with subsea, drilling, facilities, HSE, and operations teams to ensure integrated project delivery.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (flow assurance, operations, fabrication yards, installation contractors).
- Provide clear technical communication between project teams, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
- Support procurement by reviewing technical specifications, vendor documentation, and FAT/SAT activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Subsea, Ocean, Civil, or related discipline).
- Minimum 5–8 years experience in SURF or subsea engineering within offshore oil & gas.
- Prior experience with pipeline/flowline design, installation engineering, or subsea hardware.
- Strong understanding of international SURF standards (DNV‑GL, API, ISO).
- Experience working with EPC/EPCI contractors.
- Experience with Indonesian offshore projects and SKK Migas regulatory processes.
- Familiarity with construction vessels, offshore installation campaigns, and marine operations.
- Knowledge of flow assurance fundamentals.
- Strong technical report writing and documentation review skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced project environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder interface skills.
- Proactive, detail‑oriented, and safety‑focused mindset.
- Good command of English and Bahasa Indonesia (spoken & written).
