Overview

Welding Engineer

Area:
Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

CS1:
Experience in producing company of pressure vessel, heat exchanger, tube sheet heat exchanger; excellent expertise with ASME.
8 and over years in QA/QC tasks in making stress vessels as well as heat exchangers. CTC: SAR 8000 to SAR 9000/month.

Certifications:

Mechanical Design/ Metallurgy Engineer; AWS/CSWIP; ISO Interior Auditor Training; ASNT LEVEL II (UT, RT, MPI, PT). Proficient with ASME codes. Computer skills: MS Word, MS Excel. Food Allowance: SAR 300/month. Holiday accommodation & Transportation:

Responsibilities
  • Preparation and development of Welding Procedures (WPS).
  • Qualifying new WPS and PQRs; qualifying welders and welding operators.
  • Calibration of welding machines/electrodes and flux baking ovens.
  • Preparation, submission and approval of WPS, PQR, Weld Maps, etc.
  • Maintaining welders' connections and supervision on welding processes.
  • Major tasks: management of WPS and PQR, repair process entries and client/TPI approvals; development of new welding procedures; maintaining continuity of welders.
  • Ensure adherence to proper welding procedures; provide solutions to welding-related problems; prepare weld maps for shop use.
  • Ensure ovens are calibrated; ensure electrodes and consumables are baked, stored, and issued correctly.
  • Verify proper preheating and welding parameters throughout the process; suspend or invalidate welders producing defective welds.
  • Maintain certified welder list; calibrate welding equipment; evaluate welding consumables and communicate requirements to stores.
  • Inspect inbound welding consumables and provide clearance; monitor compliance; prepare impact test coupons when needed.
  • Provide monthly welder listings to production; ensure incoming welding consumables meet standards; keep weldable inspection reports up to date.
Qualifications
  • Experience in QA/QC for pressure vessels and heat exchangers; strong ASME code knowledge (ASME section VIII and related codes).
  • Certified Mechanical Design/Metallurgy Engineer; AWS/CSWIP; ASNT Level II (UT, RT, MPI, PT).
  • Solid understanding of ASME codes; proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Ability to calibrate and maintain welding equipment and ovens; knowledge of welding consumables and baking practices.
