Manager, Information Technology Applications

JOB PURPOSE

Manage the development and implementation of systems and applications in the company, ensuring accuracy and smooth workflow. Responsibilities include devising strategies to optimize information technology applications, conducting research and analysis to identify the strengths and weaknesses of current procedures, and supporting the overall IT strategy.

• Participate in the formulation and implementation of departmental plans, ensuring alignment with the company’s overall strategy and business plans.
• Develop policies and procedures related to the field, ensuring that all relevant procedural and/or legislative requirements are met.
• Manage day‑to‑day operations by facilitating related professional work processes to achieve high performance standards.
• Prepare the departmental budget, monitor financial performance, and identify areas of unsatisfactory performance.
• Set individual objectives, manage performance, develop and motivate staff, and provide regular feedback to maximize employee performance.
• Provide support for existing application systems, including analyzing systems and data; monitoring performance; diagnosing problems; and making documentation changes.
• Carry out system analysis, design, testing, and debugging.
• Plan and manage technology upgrades and new IT applications for the company’s businesses.
• Oversee application projects, including upgrades, customization, and new application evaluation, selection, and implementation.
• Establish and maintain standards for system and application architecture, configuration, and documentation.
• Provide timely expert advice and speedy resolutions to support issues and resolve escalated issues from support groups.
• Ensure efficient, secure, and smooth operations of IT systems and application communications to provide the agreed level of infrastructure resources and services.
• Study functional requirements and discuss needs with users to clarify application requirements.
• Work with users to define requirements and specify an optimal design for development.
• Carry out adjustments or customization to the software in line with user requirements.
• Implement systems into production to ensure required IT applications are available.
• Manage relationships with application vendors, including budgeting, renewals, and procurement.
• Coordinate with business leaders and subject matter experts to understand business processes and evolving application needs.
• Deliver first‑class support across the employee base and exceed expectations.
• Prepare timely and accurate reports to meet company and departmental requirements, policies, and standards.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and environmental management procedures and controls.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related specialized field.

A minimum of (8) years of work experience, including (4) years in a relevant function.

Experience with IFS Systems is required.
