Job Overview:As an Injection Machine Mould Engineer, you will be responsible for the operation, installation, and maintenance of injection moulding machines, ensuring the optimal performance of thin wall moulds and spoon/fork moulds. You will handle troubleshooting and rectifying any machine or mould-related issues to ensure smooth production processes.
Key Responsibilities:- Install and set up injection moulds, particularly thin wall moulds and spoon/fork moulds, ensuring alignment and functionality for production.
- Operate injection moulding machines efficiently, ensuring compliance with company standards, and monitor the machines during production runs to ensure optimal functionality.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot any issues related to injection moulds or machines, such as mechanical or operational malfunctions, and resolve production bottlenecks to minimize downtime.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks on injection moulds and machines to ensure they remain in top working condition, and coordinate with the maintenance team for repairs and replacements.
- Inspect finished products (thin wall moulded items, spoons, and forks) for defects or inconsistencies to ensure they meet the required quality standards and specifications.
- Maintain detailed records of machine performance, issues, and solutions applied, updating operation manuals or maintenance protocols as required.
- Continuously look for ways to optimize moulding processes to enhance production efficiency and product quality.
- Train and mentor junior technicians or operators on machine operation and troubleshooting, and supervise production processes to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mould Engineering, or related fields.
- Proven experience (3-5 years) working with injection moulding machines and mould installations, particularly with thin wall moulds and spoon/fork moulds.
- Strong technical knowledge of injection moulding processes and equipment.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting machine and mould issues.
- Familiarity with machine controls and the ability to adjust settings for optimal performance.
- Understanding of quality control principles for plastic injection products.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
