Canonical is a leading provider of open‑source software, best known for Ubuntu, the platform for AI, IoT, cloud and large‑scale enterprises worldwide. We’re looking for a Lead Golang Software Engineer to help build, operate, and scale the core services that fuel Canonical’s commercial offerings.

Location:

Remote, EMEA region.

• Develop engineering solutions leveraging Golang.
• Lead technical designs, code reviews, and implementation.
• Deploy and operate services developed by the team.
• Coach, mentor, and offer career development feedback to colleagues.
• Develop and evangelise great engineering and organisational practices.

• Exceptional academic track record from both high school and university.
• Undergraduate degree in a technical subject or a compelling narrative about an alternative chosen path.
• Track record of going above‑and‑beyond expectations to achieve outstanding results.
• Experience with software development in Golang.
• Professional written and spoken English with excellent presentation skills.
• Result‑oriented, with a personal drive to meet commitments.
• Ability to travel internationally twice a year for company events up to two weeks long.

• Performance engineering and security experience.
• Experience with accounting, sales, sales operations, or other business roles.
