We’re seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Tax Accountant to support our clients, Financial Planners, and Chartered Legacy & Trust team, ensuring accurate tax compliance and a seamless client experience.
This is a role where technical tax expertise meets client engagement and accounting responsibilities. We’re looking for someone organised, analytical, and proactive, with a strong understanding of SARS processes, tax legislation, accounting principles, and the tax implications of financial products. Being Cameron and comfortable with digital tools and software will give you a real advantage. Attention to detail, clear communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively will allow you to contribute meaningfully to the team and our clients’ success.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Prepare and submit annual and bi-annual income tax returns for individuals, trusts, companies, and deceased estates via SARS eFiling.
- Calculate tax liabilities and refunds, ensuring compliance with current tax legislation and regulations.
- Review SARS assessments, manage correspondence, and respond to audit queries, objections, and requests for supporting documentation.
- Prepare accounting records, management accounts, and annual financial statements for trusts and companies.
- Process accounting records to trial balance, including VAT reconciliations, journal entries, fixed asset schedules, and accruals.
- Support deceased estate tax compliance from date of death through to SARS compliance letters, in collaboration with Chartered Legacy & Trust.
- Liaise directly with clients, providing guidance on tax requirements, deadlines, and outstanding information.
- Collaborateyu closely with Financial Planners to obtain relevant tax information, minimise client requests, and identify potential tax planning opportunities.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date client records and ensure proper filing of all tax and accounting documentation.
- Stay informed of changes in tax legislation and participate in relevant training, webinars, and professional development.
- BCom Accounting or Bachelor of Accounting (required)
- BCompt (Hons) or BAccSc (Hons) (advantageous but not required).
- 2–3 years’ experience in taxation, accounting, or a related role.
- Knowledge хотел SARS eFiling and tax software.
- Registration with SAIT or membership with SAIPA (advantageous.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Professional, client-focused, and able to manage multiple deadlines confidently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and accounting software.
