Product Development Designer - Merchandise and Product Development Department

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Product Development Designer to join our Merchandise and Product Development Department. The successful candidate will play a key role in conceptualising, designing, and developing innovative and commercially viable products that align with our brand identity and market trends.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research and identify emerging market and design trends relevant to our product categories.

• Conceptualise and design new products or improve existing ones, ensuring alignment with the company’s brand and merchandise strategy.

• Develop detailed product design specifications, technical drawings, and material guidelines.

• Collaborate closely with the merchandising, buying, and sourcing teams to ensure product feasibility, cost efficiency, and timely development.

• Review and evaluate product samples and prototypes, making recommendations for improvements.

• Liaise with local and international suppliers or manufacturers to ensure product quality and compliance with design requirements.

• Support the merchandise team in range planning and seasonal product launches.

Requirements:

• Relevant qualification in Product Design, Industrial Design, Fashion Design, or a related field.

• Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in product design or product development within a retail or manufacturing environment.

• Strong creative, visual, and conceptual design skills.

• Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or CAD programs.

• Good understanding of materials, production processes, and quality standards.

• Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and time management skills.

• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
