We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer :
Transmission Substations to join our clients growing team. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact energy projects that shape Africas sustainable future.

The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead the design management and optimisation of transmission and substation systems that transport high-voltage electricity from generation to distribution. You will oversee all aspects of project delivery from concept design and procurement through to construction and commissioning ensuring engineering excellence technical integrity and on-time execution.

• BSc / BEng / BTech in Electrical Engineering (essential).
• ECSA Professional Registration (PrEng or PrTech) or eligibility for registration.
• Minimum 8 years experience in :
• Electrical transmission and substation design.
• Procurement and commissioning of electrical plant and equipment for major infrastructure projects.
• HV and EHV transmission design and substation construction.
• Experience in substation commissioning will be a strong advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office AutoCAD / Micro Station CDEGS ETAP DIgSILENT or related substation software.
• Excellent analytical problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional cross-regional teams with a focus on technical excellence.

• Lead the electrical design and delivery of transmission and substation projects.
• Develop and manage project cost estimates including materials labour and equipment.
• Oversee supplier design and delivery packages to ensure compliance with specifications budgets and timelines.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
• Review and approve design drawings specifications and inspection reports.
• Identify and implement value engineering and design optimisation opportunities.
• Manage supplier performance conduct progress meetings and ensure adherence to quality and HSE standards.
• Proactively mitigate risks resolve project delays and report on progress and performance.
• Collaborate closely with Quality teams to ensure timely inspections and compliance with corrective actions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the engineering team.
