About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Civil Engineer with 1–3 years’ experience to join our growing civil engineering team. The successful candidate will gain hands-on exposure to the design, analysis, and implementation of structures and road infrastructure projects across South Africa.

This role is ideal for an early-career engineer looking to build strong technical skills while working under the mentorship of senior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the design and detailing of civil structures, including bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and related infrastructure
• Support the planning, design, and rehabilitation of roads, including geometric design, pavement design, and drainage
• Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, and technical reports
• Use design software and CAD tools (e.g. AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Prokon, or similar)
• Assist with site inspections, surveys, and contractor liaison
• Ensure designs comply with South African standards and codes (e.g. SANRAL, TMH, SANS)
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on time and within budget

Minimum Requirements

• BEng / BSc in Civil Engineering
• 1–3 years’ post-graduate experience in civil engineering, with exposure to structures and/or roads
• Working knowledge of civil engineering design principles
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (Civil 3D and structural software advantageous)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Advantageous

• Candidate or eligibility for ECSA registration (Candidate Engineer – Pr Eng track)
• Experience on SANRAL, municipal, or provincial infrastructure projects
• Site experience and contractor coordination
