At Veeam, Systems Engineers work closely with field sales teams and help to evangelize our product offerings to our partners, resellers and end users. These positions require up to 50% travel within the region of responsibility.
What You’ll Do- Engage with end users and Veeam partners to establish and translate business objectives into technical requirements.
- Create content and deliver presentations and demonstrations to varying numbers and levels of decision makers, virtually and in person.
- Manage the technical evaluation stage of the sales process as a main technical advisor for Veeam solutions.
- Provide pre‑sales assistance to customers as they evaluate Veeam software (e.g., POCs, hands‑on labs, bootcamps).
- Record and maintain accurate and up‑to‑date details of customer and partner engagement activities on the CRM platform (Salesforce).
- Work closely with Veeam’s value‑added resellers on training, joint meetings and building relationships.
- Support lead generation activities such as events, webinars, user groups, etc.
- Work closely with Veeam Product Development and Engineering to provide customer feedback.
- Actively participate and collaborate with cross‑functional teams on various strategic initiatives that increase efficiencies and add long‑term value to the company.
- Demonstrable experience working in a pre‑sales role in IT.
- Prior experience using or deploying Veeam solutions.
- VMCE certification or willingness to obtain VMCE and VMCA certifications.
- Deep experience with virtualization technologies (VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper‑V, Nutanix AHV) and associated technologies (SANs, hyper‑converged storage, networking).
- Working knowledge of public clouds (Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
- Working knowledge of key SaaS platforms such as Microsoft Office 365 and Salesforce.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable presenting to groups, both remotely and in person.
- Available to travel across Africa.
- Must be located in Africa; applicants permanently outside Africa will not be considered.
- A self‑starter with the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment where roles and responsibilities change quickly.
