Power BI Specialist

Responsibilities :

End to end data acquisition and data management (Event / Streaming based data pipelines, ETL, Data lake, Data warehousing and dimensional data modelling).Import the data into the corporate data lake / data warehouse.

Querying :
Managing SSIS packages and maintenance

Transformations :
Creating and managing SQL stored procedures

Troubleshooting :
Investigating and resolving SQL bugs

Data design :
Designing and building SQL datasets for reporting

Data handling :
Loading and verifying SQL monthly source data

Data analysis :
Manipulating and analysing data Reporting :
Running month-end packs in Tableau Daily reporting :
Managing daily SQL data and Tableau reports

Report development :
Developing and automating new BI reports

IT Related Degree / Diploma / Microsoft certification / Cloud certification.

Min 5 years’ experience in BI (SSIS, SSRS).Min 5 years’ experience in Data warehousing (Kimbal Methodology) (SSIS).Insurance industry knowledge required.

Database technologies SQL Server 2012 or later (Database, table, view and stored procedure creation, SQL query, SQL Security).Experience using Tableau Exposure to any cloud technologies

Hadoop components including HDFS, Hive, Spark, Oozie and Impala Streaming based data pipelines (e.g. Kafka or Nifi)
Object-oriented / object functional scripting languages :
Python, Java, Scala or related

SQL architectural experience preferable.

Working knowledge of C# /  / VBA advantageous.

The reference umnber for this position is NG60442 which is a permanent Hybrid role offering a salary of R700k up to R900k per annum salary negotiable based on experience.
