Performing Server Specialist

A sought-after IT professional is required to work with a managed solutions provider in Sandton, South Africa.

The successful candidate will resolve complex technical challenges and maintain secure client environments.

• L2 Escalation and Support:
  Provide advanced troubleshooting and resolution for technical issues from the helpdesk.
• Infrastructure Design & Configuration:
  Expertly install, configure, and support Microsoft server operating systems and core application software.
• Security &
  
  Risk Management:
  
  Identify possible IT risks or complex technical problems and devise robust remediation strategies.
• Remote & On-Site Administration:
  Perform advanced remote administration of servers and networks.
• Operational Coordination:
  Execute orders, manage service follow-ups, and coordinate repairs with external suppliers.

• Experience Foundation:
  At least 5 years of dedicated server support and maintenance experience are necessary.
• Certifications:
  
  A matriculation certificate and international certification equivalent to MCSE / MCSA are required.
• Technical Mastery:
  Advanced knowledge of Active Directory, Office configuration and administration, and networking / firewall technologies is essential.
• Systems & Continuity:
  Essential knowledge of backup solutions and working knowledge of server hardware systems, TCP / IP networking, and configuring routers and wireless access points is necessary.

  Excellent troubleshooting skills and strong knowledge of Windows Event logs and hardware components are also required.
