Permanent position, 40 hours per week (Shift pattern Monday‑Friday)
Pay: £14.20 per hour
We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Caretaker/Janitor on our Renfrewshire Schools account in the West Johnstone Campus
. Amey delivers facilities and estate management services to our schools, creating safe, clean and compliant learning environments for teachers and students.
We work in partnership with our clients and end‑users to ensure our 24/7 services are delivered to the highest standard with minimal impact or disruption to the day‑to‑day operational requirements of the schools.
What You Will Do- Ensure smooth running of the school premises
- Carry out day‑to‑day DIY/maintenance and minor repairs (e.g., furniture fixtures, wall repairs)
- Ensure heating, lighting and alarm systems are working properly
- Daily check that all doors and windows are locked when the building is not in use
- Guard the premises against vandalism
- Arrange chairs and tables for meetings or assemblies and clear away afterwards
- Litter pick and generally clear external areas
- Knowledge and previous experience in practical DIY skills for minor repair
- Good team player
- Flexible with shift work
- Strong ability to build working relationships with on‑site clients and employees
- Support local and business zero carbon programmes, working towards zero carbon in a strategic and lean manner where appropriate
- Responsible for ensuring H&S standards are achieved across the contract
