Dawson Civil is seeking a Surveyor to join our team. In this role, you will perform field surveys, interpret plans, and create/manage survey files that support our civil construction projects throughout British Columbia.
As a valued member of Dawson Civil, you will work in a Seasonal, full-time Surveyor position reporting to the Survey Manager. Your home base will be either Kamloops, BC or Quesnel, BC
, with regular travel throughout the province.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
Always prioritizing the safety of yourself and othersConducting field surveys, including construction staking, topographic, design, and volumetric surveysAccurately recording measurements and data, preparing field notes, and performing quality control on survey workInterpreting plans and completing required calculationsCreating, organizing, and managing survey filesVerifying existing survey control and establishing new control as neededResearching land records, survey records, and land titlesWHAT YOU BRING
Surveying experience, ideally within the civil construction industryProficiency with GPS and total station equipmentKnowledge of general surveying techniques and equipment (e.g., laser, level)Ability to interpret and use information from maps, drawings, and field measurementsA valid driver’s licenseStrong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to work independently as well as collaborativelyA strong commitment to safetyBENEFITS
