Job Summary

The Team
Stewardship Operations is part of Resource Stewardship Division within the Ministry of Water, Land and Resource Stewardship. Resource Stewardship Division owns, and is responsible for, water licenses associated with dam infrastructure on a variety of lakes. These dams support fisheries values in addition to public safety and water conservation benefits.
The Role
This position provides and applies professional expertise regarding dam management, including safety and engineering, for Resource Stewardship Division. This position will manage high profile provincial assets that require a Designated Professional engineer to meet legislation and contribute to the sustainable management of Provincial fish populations and ecological values.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Degree in civil engineering or geotechnical engineering or equivalent as recognized by Engineers and Geoscientists BC. Registered, or immediately eligible for registration, as a fully licensed professional in British Columbia with the Engineers and Geoscientists BC.
    • Note:

      immediately eligible for registration is defined as being able to immediately transfer a current membership from an applicable jurisdiction to EGBC within six (6) months of employment. If you are not currently registered, advise how you have confirmed with EGBC you are immediately eligible. Confirmation of registration/eligibility is required before an offer of employment can be confirmed.
  • Related experience in project management of infrastructure planning, design.
  • Experience monitoring work of contracted resources

Currently there is 1 permanent opportunity available. Flexible work options are available, this position may be able to work up to two days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement. An eligibility list may be established to fill future permanent and temporary vacancies. A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
