Cloud Administrator – Cronometer, Revelstoke or Kelowna, BC, Canada (in‑office or hybrid)

Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Cloud Administrator to design, build, and optimize our AWS cloud infrastructure. The role will support architectural decisions, ensure scalability, security, compliance, and drive best practices across the organization. Requirements include deep expertise in AWS, strong Terraform skills, and a proven track record in building and maintaining secure cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities- Steer the design, implementation, and optimization of AWS‑based infrastructure to support Cronometer’s products and services in collaboration with Cloud Engineers and Architects.
- Develop and enforce best practices for cloud security, scalability, cost optimization, and performance.
- Work hands‑on with Terraform to build and manage infrastructure as code.
- Collaborate with software engineering and data teams to ensure infrastructure meets evolving business needs.
- Implement CI/CD processes and automation for cloud deployments.
- Evaluate and integrate new AWS services and tools to improve the cloud ecosystem.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and knowledge sharing to other team members.
- AWS Certified (Solutions Architect – Associate level or higher).
- 3+ years of hands‑on experience in administration and architecture of AWS services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, Lambda, Cloud Formation, etc.).
- Professional experience in Terraform for infrastructure as code (certification preferred).
- Experience with Amazon Data Lake toolset.
- Professional experience administering monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog, New Relic).
- Proven experience implementing and maintaining secure cloud environments.
- Strong background in networking and cloud security best practices.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally.
- ISO compliance or audit experience.
- Experience with container orchestration (ECS, EKS, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with Python or other scripting languages for automation.
- Previous experience in a leadership or mentorship capacity.
- Indicative salary range: CA $90‑130k.
