Yard Labourer

About the Role

Amrize is recruiting a Labourer at our Kamloops BC grinding plant. Labourers are responsible for aiding in all areas of the plant, including housekeeping/cleaning, grounds maintenance, equipment and machinery operation, and other various tasks throughout the plant. A high level of safety practices must be used at all times.

• Receive verbal instructions to determine work assignments
• Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials
• Remove rubble and other debris in the facility
• Operate basic equipment and machinery
• Complete Field Level Risk Assessments before beginning each task
• Actively participate in continuous improvement on safety initiatives
• Maintain good housekeeping in areas of responsibility
• Ensure that all field equipment is operating properly; identify and inform of any field problems
• Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors

Education: High school Diploma or equivalent.

Required

Work Experience:

1-2 years of industrial experience is preferred.

Required Training/

Certifications:

Drivers License and Abstract required.

• Prior experience in an industrial setting would be an asset
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors and in a noisy plant setting
• Safety Oriented
• Able to lift 50 lbs
• Able to work in a fast paced, high production environment
• Willing to work a variety of shifts (including evenings and graveyards) and overtime as needed
• Able to work unsupervised
• Able to work well with others
• Good communication skills
• Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.

• Hourly Wage: $27.97/Hourly
