You will be responsible for the inspection, operation and monitoring of landfill and composting equipment, and the collection and interpretation of data for regulatory compliance. The position primarily focuses on organics management, compost production and assists with the landfill gas system. Work collaboratively to reduce the production of environmental emissions, troubleshoots equipment, and assists in the installation of materials to improve operations from an environmental perspective.

The successful candidate will have completed a Diploma in Environmental Sciences or related field. You will have excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Duties - Union
• Inspects, operates, monitors and maintains landfill, composting and bio-solid equipment.

• Takes the necessary steps to reduce the production of environmental emissions.

• Assists in the installation of materials to improve operations from an environmental perspective.

• Collects, records and analyzes data for regulatory compliance.

• Troubleshoots equipment and process issues.

• Liaises with contractors, equipment operators and other City staff. Results and Activities - Non union Credentials - Union

Additional Hiring Information This position is for a 1 year term.

Testing may be required. If no fully qualified candidates apply, those not fully qualified may be considered for a training opportunity. Training rates will apply.
