A relief (temporary) part-time 0.82fte Occupational Therapist opportunity is available in the Community team in Kelowna. This position supports the assessment of children to nineteen years old who have a query of FASD or intellectual disability, and so knowledge of appropriate assessment tools and possible interventions are key. This position works Tuesday to Friday from 08:30-16:30. Occasional travel within the Interior Health region may be required.

About the position:

The occupational therapist works independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team providing inpatient, outpatient, residential and community occupational therapy services including assessment, treatment planning and implementation, program planning, consultation, equipment prescription and education of residents/clients/patients (‘the client’) and/or their caregivers to promote functional independence and enable the client to achieve and maintain optimal health outcomes. The occupational therapist contributes to the organization and the overall goals of the department;

participates in departmental/program quality assurance initiatives, meetings, research, and education; and provides work direction to the rehabilitation assistants working with the rehabilitation team in regards to transfer of function.
