About the Job
The Registered Nurse:

• Practices in a variety of clinical settings and is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of client care

• Works in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team

• Ensures the delivery of client–centered care by assisting individual clients and their families respond to changing health care needs

• Demonstrates a specialized body of knowledge and bases practice on nursing science and related content from other sciences and humanities

This is a Casual opportunity. Casual Employees are not guaranteed hours of work and can range from 0-37.5 hours per week on an as-needed basis.

Shifts of work will be scheduled days and nights rotating from 07:15 to 19:15, 19:15 to 07:15 hours.

About this Location
SOGH is an active, rural hospital serving communities of Oliver, Osoyoos, and surrounding areas that sees an average of 16,000 emergency visits per year. There are 7 Emergency beds it is staffed 24 hours a day with 2 RN’s on day shift as well as a 10 hour triage nurse, night shift is 2 RN’s. The acute care ward is 18 beds and is staffed with 2RN’s and 2

LPN’s on days and 2RN’s and 1 LPN on nights, the occupancy at SOG is regularly 100%.
This site was selected to be a pilot site for the implementation of the electronic Meditech Charting System, Advanced Clinicals. We now have been a paperless ward for a few years, and one of the few who have been able to achieve it in Canada and North America. Nursing and multidisciplinary notes, medication administration, and physicians’ orders are done electronically. Today, we are seen as a leader in this technology.
