Healthcare Security Guard - Okanagan

We are currently hiring Healthcare Security Guards to join our growing team. In this position, you will safeguard patients, staff, and visitors while maintaining a calm, compassionate, and professional presence. You will be an integral part of the healthcare community supporting safety, patient care, and public trust every day.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide a professional and visible security presence throughout the healthcare facility.
• Conduct patrols and inspections to ensure safety, security, and compliance with hospital policies.
• Control access to restricted areas and verify identification for staff, contractors, and visitors.
• Respond promptly and effectively to incidents, disturbances, and emergency situations.
• Assist in the management of aggressive behaviour using de-escalation and non-violent crisis intervention techniques.
• Support healthcare staff during emergency codes
• Complete detailed and accurate incident and daily activity reports.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and act as an ambassador of Paladin Security’s values and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Valid BC Security License
• Basic First Aid Training is preferred
• BC Class 5 driver’s license (for Healthcare Mobile Driver)
• Previous experience in a healthcare security setting preferred.
• Strong communication, observation, and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to remain composed and empathetic in high-stress situations.
• Knowledge of hospital emergency codes and procedures is an asset.
• Physically able to perform duties including standing, walking, and responding to incidents.
