The OpportunityMcElhanney has an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to expand our Civil Engineering presence in Kelowna, BC. In this role, you will lead projects in the planning, design, and execution of municipal infrastructure and land development. You’ll oversee project delivery from concept through construction, manage client relationships, and mentor junior staff. This position offers leadership opportunities and a chance to grow within the branch.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Assist the Branch Manager and Division Manager in business development for civil engineering projects and cross-sell other McElhanney services.
- Lead the proposal, design, and delivery of civil engineering projects including municipal infrastructure and land development.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, scope, and quality assurance.
- Prepare and review technical reports, design drawings, and specifications.
- Coordinate with clients, municipalities, regulatory agencies, and subconsultants.
- Provide technical mentorship and support to EITs and junior engineers.
- Ensure projects comply with applicable codes, standards, and guidelines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Registered P.Eng. with EGBC or eligible for registration in BC.
- 6–12 years of progressive civil engineering experience, primarily in consulting.
- Proven ability to attract/retain clients, win projects, and deliver high-quality work on time and within budget.
- Familiar with MMCD specifications and procurement; registration as a Certified Contract Administrator (CCA) is an asset.
- Demonstrated project management skills with a track record of successful delivery.
- Strong leadership, learning mindset, knowledge sharing, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience working with government, contractors, and developers is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of municipal infrastructure design, construction, and permitting.
- Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related engineering software.
The salary range for this position is $95,000 - $120,000 per year. We offer fair compensation commensurate with education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications. The posted base salary/wage range represents the required level of qualifications and experience for the position and will be based on the successful candidate’s experience.
