Location: Coldstream
CNC Machinist, Coldstream, up to £40,000 per annum + OT paid at x1.5

Responsibilities

* Monday–Thursday: 08:00–17:00

* Friday: 08:00–14:30

* Operate and program CNC machines with Fanuc controls (Doosan lathes, Haas mills, Star GB machines — training provided)

* Manufacture bespoke and standard components in accordance with engineering drawings and specified tolerances

* Set, run, and program CNC machinery in line with skill level and training

* Produce tooling, jigs, and fixtures to support and improve production processes across departments

* Monitor machine performance, ensuring correct oil and coolant levels and optimal running/programming efficiency

* Complete quality checks to ensure components meet all required tolerances and standards

* Manage materials efficiently: return unused bar stock, maintain accurate stock movement records, and keep bar feeders filled

* Prepare finished parts for production (cleaning, deburring, counting, and completing all related paperwork)

* Raise requisitions for parts produced and accurately record any scrap

* Process drawing requests and complete rework forms where necessary

* Provide guidance and support to less experienced engineers

* Carry out manual machining tasks when required

* Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe workspace, ensuring all equipment is securely stored at the end of each shift

Requirements

* Ability to operate and program CNC machines

* Competence in interpreting engineering drawings and working to tight tolerances

* Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality standards

* Ability to maintain a clean, safe and well-organised workspace

* Apprentice-trained background

* Offline programming experience

* Knowledge of CNC CAD/CAM systems
