We're currently looking for a skilled and motivated Engineering Supervisor to join our Technical Services team based at the Medway Campus, University of Greenwich. In this role, you'll be leading the on‑site residential M&E team overseeing day‑to‑day operations, ensuring compliance, and playing a hands‑on part in both planned and reactive maintenance. You'll be a key point of contact for ensuring the smooth running of essential building services across the campus, working closely with our Engineering Lead, Facilities Manager, and wider Sodexo team.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise a team of on‑site engineers, supporting performance, training, and development
  • Oversee the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance across M&E and building fabric systems
  • Coordinate daily operations with the Helpdesk team to ensure timely response to service requests
  • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety policies, Safe Systems of Work, and Permit to Work procedures
  • Carry out routine audits to maintain high standards of quality, compliance, and documentation
  • Manage subcontractors and specialist suppliers, from scheduling to quality assurance and safety checks
Qualifications
  • HND or NVQ or equivalent in a relevant subject
  • Extensive practical experience in building services and plant engineering with formal qualifications and relevant experience within a defined discipline, e.g. electrical, mechanical or similar.
  • Previous appointment as Authorised Person for one or more of the following disciplines, LV, Mechanical Services, Confined Spaces, Boiler and Pressure Systems or similar
  • Experience working within or around World Heritage Listed properties, buildings and environments
  • Excellent communications both written and verbal.
  • Numerate and computer literate.
  • Previous experience of managing a team of engineers
Desirable
  • Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations
  • Level 3 Award in the Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations
  • Membership of Institute of Leadership and Management
  • IOSH Managing Safety
  • Emergency first aid qualification
