Join Our Team as an Emergency Department Coordinator/Receptionist
Are you looking for a rewarding role in a fast‑paced and vital healthcare setting? We are expanding our Emergency Department (ED) team and are seeking Coordinators/Receptionists to join us at both our Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells sites.
Job responsibilitiesThe post holder will be one of the first interactions the patient has when entering ED. You will be responsible for booking patients into the department via our IT systems, with accuracy and efficiency, liaising effectively with clinical staff, and undertake other administrative duties to support the vital functions of the ED service. A key part of the role involves precise data entry in our appointment‑based systems, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.

- A logical thinker who can use their initiative to make decisions in a fast‑paced environment.
- Computer literacy and proficiency in navigating systems and software.
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
- This role involves working shifts, including days and nights, which can range from 6 to 12 hours per block.
- Cross‑site working will be required.
- At least 27 days of annual leave plus public/bank holidays (pro‑rata for part‑time staff).

- Essential qualifications: GCSEs or equivalent relevant experience to ongoing education and training; basic IT qualification or ability to demonstrate knowledge.
- Desirable: A Levels/NVQ.
- Essential skills: IT literate; good communication skills (verbal, written, electronic and telephone).
- Desirable skills: manage own workload; liaise effectively.
- Essential experience/knowledge: Experienced in using the Allscripts PAS; knowledge of the tracking and locating of patient notes.
- Desirable: previous experience.
