Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Kettering

Salary: £50,000 (Depending on experience)

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced and driven Mechanical Design Engineer to join a leading engineering business delivering custom machinery and systems for material handling applications. This hands‑on role involves managing the full design process, from concept through to commissioning.

• Produce 2D and 3D general arrangement and detailed manufacturing drawings using Solid Works.
• Integrate in‑house and third‑party equipment into optimised system layouts.
• Manage full project design cycle including design freeze, BOM creation, and release to manufacturing.
• Support site‑based activities such as measurement checks, installation, commissioning & test.

• Proficient in Solid Works and AutoCAD 2D.
• Experience in sheet metal and fabricated product design.
• Background in special‑purpose machinery or extensive metal fabrication experience.
• Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and managing BOMs.
