Project OverviewJubail is Bechtel’s largest civil‑engineering project. Located in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province, the project includes two industrial cities, residential communities, schools, hospitals, and vital infrastructure, with a focus on road, port, pipeline, and utility expansions.
Job SummaryAs a Project Controls Engineer, you will lead planning and scheduling for infrastructure projects, applying advanced project controls to manage cost, schedule, and risk. You will coordinate across engineering, procurement, and construction disciplines, develop integrated schedules, monitor performance, and provide actionable insights to support decision‑making.
Major Responsibilities- Interface with contractors and subcontractors to validate construction timelines, assess progress, and resolve schedule conflicts.
- Conduct schedule risk analysis and what‑if scenarios to evaluate potential disruptions and develop mitigation strategies.
- Implement and oversee earned value management (EVM) to monitor project performance and identify variances in cost and schedule.
- Analyze change notices and assess their impact on project cost and schedule, ensuring proper documentation and control.
- Prepare and present high‑level project status reports to senior management and stakeholders, highlighting risks, opportunities, and performance trends.
- Support cost and resource planning integration, ensuring consistency between schedule forecasts and budget allocations.
- Ensure compliance with Bechtel’s project controls procedures and standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline.
- 9–12 years of relevant experience in project controls and engineering.
- 8–10+ years of proven experience in project controls, engineering, or related field.
- At least 5 years of experience as a Project Controls Engineer in a large‑scale organization.
- Proficiency in change management, impact analysis, trending, and forecasting tools.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Expertise in Primavera P6 or equivalent scheduling tools.
- Deep understanding of infrastructure project lifecycle and construction methodologies.
- Ability to develop, maintain, and analyze integrated project schedules across disciplines.
- Proficient in preparing schedule reports, dashboards, and visualizations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical skills for large, complex data sets.
- Professional certification such as PMP, PSP, or equivalent preferred.
