The
Spare Parts Data Package (SPDP) Engineer
is responsible for the coordination, development, and management of spare parts documentation and data packages for engineering projects, particularly in the oil & gas, energy, or industrial sectors. This role ensures that all SPDPs are accurate, complete, and delivered in compliance with project timelines and quality standards. The engineer acts as a liaison between engineering, procurement, vendors, and clients to ensure seamless data flow and documentation integrity.
Coordinate with engineering disciplines, procurement teams, and clients to ensure timely and accurate delivery of SPDPs across all project phases.
Plan and allocate resources efficiently to meet project milestones and documentation requirements.
- Oversee the quality and consistency of SPDPs, ensuring alignment with internal standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and update a centralized database or document control system for all SPDP-related information.
- Prepare, compile, and maintain comprehensive documentation packages, including datasheets, drawings, specifications, and procedures.
- Provide technical assistance and clarification to internal departments regarding spare parts data and documentation.
- Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to obtain, review, and validate spare parts data and ensure timely submission.
- Identify and resolve issues related to SPDP development, data inconsistencies, or documentation delays
- Contribute to the enhancement of SPDP processes, templates, and tools to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure all SPDPs comply with applicable industry standards, client requirements, and internal quality systems.
- Generate and submit regular progress reports, status updates, and KPIs related to SPDP activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field
- 5+ years of experience in spare parts documentation, materials engineering, or technical documentation within EPC or industrial projects.
- Proficiency in document management systems (e.g., EDMS, SharePoint).
- Familiarity with engineering drawings, datasheets, and vendor documentation.
- Understanding of spare parts classification (e.g., MESC codes, OEM references).
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
- Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and international vendors.
