Are you passionate about improving outcomes for children and families? Were looking for dynamic Specialist Community Public Health Nurses (HV). This is a 22.5 hour post in Wyre Forest, Basedin Kidderminster.

We are looking for keen and enthusiastic SCPHNs to join our teams. You will lead a skill mix team to deliver the Healthy Child Programme, driving forward the public health agenda through collaborative and innovative working.

You will be joining friendly and supportive 0-19 Public Health Nursing teams. We are looking for SCPHNs who arekeen to use their specialist qualification to manage busy caseloads and support their skill mix teams. The teams cover both rural and urban areas and being able to meet the travel requirements of the role is essential. Travel acrossthe locality, and Worcestershire, will be required.

Main duties of the job

As a SCPHN (HV) you will lead the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme. You will travel across the beautiful Worcestershire countryside and through our towns to visit families athome, in clinic and at locations to meet their needs. Leading a skill mix team, you will work collaboratively to deliver high-quality, evidence-based interventions. Your knowledge of local and national issues that impact on the0-5 population will support your practice.

You will have the opportunity to champion public health priorities, promoting health equity and early intervention through High Impact Area groups and MECSH. Through monitoring outcomes using evidence-based tools you will strive to improve service delivery through innovative practice. Multi-agency working is key to this role, and you will need to be confident working with other professionals to empower the most vulnerable families to make positive change.

You will be confident in your decision making and report writing.

Person Specification Experience
  • Recent Nursing experience post registration.
  • Previous experience providing a health service to children young people and families
  • Experience of time and resource management
  • Experience of working in a Public Health Nursing team.
  • Use of MECSH.
  • Experience of Multi-Agency working.
  • Experience in the supervision and assessment of pre-registration and post-registration nursing students.
  • Experience of Early Help Assessment / Planning.
Knowledge
  • Knowledge of research and clinical governance.
  • Evidence of recent study in relation to children and families.
  • Understanding of Public Health Priorities in Worcestershire.
Qualifications
  • RSCN / RN (Child) / RGN / Registered Midwife
  • Registered with NMC
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer.
  • Practice Supervisor and Assessor.
  • Community Prescribing Qualification.
Skills & Abilities
  • Teaching and group presentation skills.
  • Ability to facilitate mentorship and supervision of others.
Additional Criteria
  • You will need to be able to meet the travel needs of this community-based post. It is unlikely public transport will be sufficient due to the nature of the role and geography of the areas covered.
