Job Description
We need a leader to head the Operations Catchment Services Water Resources Department. You will shape statutory Water Resource Management Plans, provide strategic input to the National Framework for Water Resources and deliver sustainable abstraction programmes. Your focus will be on drought planning, talent development, and national modelling of water resources and groundwater.
Key Responsibilities- Shape and scrutinise statutory Water Resource Management Plans for water companies.
- Provide expert input to the National Framework for Water Resources.
- Manage programmes to deliver sustainable abstraction.
- Lead drought planning and drought management initiatives.
- Develop talent and skills in water planning.
- Lead national modelling efforts for water resources and groundwater.
- Champion health, safety, wellbeing and inclusion within the team.
- Deliver operational services efficiently, ensuring resources are used effectively.
- Represent the department within the Operations Catchment Services Leadership Team.
- Maintain strong stakeholder relationships and influence decisions.
- Authentic leadership and a proven record of developing and motivating teams.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with a strong customer focus and influencing ability.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to simplify complex business links and focus on key outcomes.
- Working knowledge of water resources management and an understanding of the environmental, political and economic pressures affecting water companies, food producers, energy providers and technology sectors.
- Experience managing programmes and leading technical delivery teams.
