Job Description
Head Chef Nursing Home Catering Hours No EveningsOur client is looking for a passionate and experienced Head Chef to lead the kitchen in a beautiful care home setting surrounded by stunning gardens. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled chef to design and deliver menus that balance nutrition, flavour and presentation supporting the health and wellbeing of older adults.
With no evening shifts and a supportive working environment this role offers the chance to combine professional creativity with a better work‑life balance.
What We’re Looking For :- Proven experience as a Head Chef or strong Sous Chef ready for the next step.
- Ideally experience working in a nursing home care home or similar healthcare environment.
- Excellent knowledge of nutrition, special diets, allergies and hydration.
- Strong leadership, organisation and kitchen management skills.
- Ability to create appealing, nutritious and high‑quality meals for older adults.
- Food hygiene and safety certifications (or willingness to update as required).
- 40 hours per week with no evening shifts.

- Ensure meals meet both nutritional standards and a fine dining presentation.
- Oversee food safety, hygiene and kitchen compliance.
- Manage stock ordering and kitchen budgets effectively.
- Provide training and guidance to kitchen staff fostering a positive team environment.
- Work collaboratively with care staff to support residents' health and wellbeing through tailored diets.
