Head Chef Nursing Home Catering Hours No Evenings

Our client is looking for a passionate and experienced Head Chef to lead the kitchen in a beautiful care home setting surrounded by stunning gardens. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled chef to design and deliver menus that balance nutrition, flavour and presentation supporting the health and wellbeing of older adults.

With no evening shifts and a supportive working environment this role offers the chance to combine professional creativity with a better work‑life balance.

What We’re Looking For :
  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or strong Sous Chef ready for the next step.
  • Ideally experience working in a nursing home care home or similar healthcare environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of nutrition, special diets, allergies and hydration.
  • Strong leadership, organisation and kitchen management skills.
  • Ability to create appealing, nutritious and high‑quality meals for older adults.
  • Food hygiene and safety certifications (or willingness to update as required).

Key Responsibilities :
  • Lead the kitchen team to deliver high‑quality meals in a care home setting.
  • Plan and prepare seasonal menus that cater for a variety of dietary needs including allergies, modified textures and hydration requirements.
  • Ensure meals meet both nutritional standards and a fine dining presentation.
  • Oversee food safety, hygiene and kitchen compliance.
  • Manage stock ordering and kitchen budgets effectively.
  • Provide training and guidance to kitchen staff fostering a positive team environment.
  • Work collaboratively with care staff to support residents' health and wellbeing through tailored diets.
