Factory Operative; Blinds

THE EMPLOYER IS: BEDWIN SOFT FURNISHING LIMITEDA blind manufacturing job involves creating and assembling custom window treatments (blinds, shades, shutters) by cutting materials (fabric, wood, metal), operating machinery, fitting components (slats, cords, handrails), ensuring quality, packaging, and sometimes installing them, requiring precision, tool skills, attention to detail and teamwork to meet production goals and client needs for light control and aesthetics.

• Material Prep:
  Measuring and cutting materials like wood, fabric or aluminium to specific sizes.
• Assembly:
  Lacing cords, attaching headrails, installing components (cord locks, gears) using hand/power tools.
• Operation:
  Safely using machinery for cutting, riveting, or sewing.
• Quality control:
  Inspecting finished products for defects, ensuring they meet standards.
• Production:
  Working to meet deadlines and production targets in a factory setting.
• Maintenance:
  Keeping tools, equipment and work areas clean and organized.
• Client Interaction (for fitters/makers):
  Consulting with customers, taking measurements, advising on products, and installing finished blinds.

• Proficiency with hand/power tools, ability to read diagrams, basic maths.
• Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, problem-solving, good communication.
• Previous experience in manufacturing, carpentry, upholstery or related fields is often required.
• Stamina for handling materials.
