Credit Controller

Position: Credit Controller (Permanent)
We are looking for a Credit Controller who is responsible for managing the company’s debtor accounts to ensure timely payment of invoices and effective credit risk management. The role focuses on maintaining healthy cash flow, minimising bad debt, and building strong working relationships with customers and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

Credit Control & Collections

Monitor customer accounts to identify overdue payments.

Contact customers via phone, email, or letter to chase outstanding debts.

Negotiate repayment plans where necessary.

Resolve queries that may prevent payment.

Account Management

Maintain accurate customer account records.

Allocate payments and reconcile customer accounts.

Risk & Reporting

Escalate high-risk accounts and recommend actions such as credit holds.

Prepare regular reports on outstanding debt, aged debt analysis, and cash collection performance.

Work closely with the sales and finance teams to manage credit risk and resolve issues.

Customer Service

Provide professional support to customers regarding invoices, statements, and payment terms.

Build strong relationships to encourage timely payments and positive customer experiences.

Skills & Qualifications

Strong communication and negotiation skills.

High attention to detail and accuracy.

Good understanding of credit control processes and accounting principles.

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Proficiency in Excel and finance/ERP systems.

Previous experience in credit control (often preferred but not always required)
