Offering a three-month, to be confirmed hourly rate.

This is an exciting opportunity to take on the role of Shift Practice Manager within the Specialist Adolescent Service in Kingston and Richmond. As an expert practitioner, you will play a pivotal role in driving transformative outcomes for young people through innovative practice, partnership working, and systems thinking within Achieving for Children’s Family and Adolescents Directorate. What you will do
  • Lead and manage social work practice, ensuring high standards and consistent practice across the service.
  • Oversee contacts into the service, chair strategy meetings, and provide supervision and case direction.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to colleagues, ensuring the highest quality support and meeting statutory responsibilities as a frontline manager.
  • Collaborate closely with the Senior Guide and Head of Service to promote excellent practice.
  • Manage high‑level risk including safeguarding and public protection issues stemming from contextual factors.
  • Play a vital role in recruitment, training, best practice development, evaluation, and performance management.
  • Act as a critical friend to support, challenge, and help overcome obstacles, bringing a fresh perspective to SHiFT and social care processes.
