We’re currently looking for an experienced Senior Authorised Person (SAP) up to 33kV to support ongoing works across the Scotland (Dundee & North) area.

Rate: £600 per day
Duration:
Approx. 6 months (starting March 2026) – with potential follow-on work

Hours:

Monday to Friday

The Role

You’ll be acting as the Senior Authorised Person on LV/HV distribution networks up to and including 33kV, ensuring all works are carried out safely and in line with DNO and company safety rules.

Key duties will include:

* Carrying out and overseeing HV switching, isolation, earthing and restoration activities

* Issuing, receiving and cancelling safety documentation (PTWs, SFTs)

* Liaising with DNO Control to plan outages and manage faults

* Leading site teams and ensuring safe systems of work are followed

* Producing switching schedules, RAMS and associated documentation

* Supporting fault response, emergency situations and network restoration

Requirements

* Proven experience working on LV/HV distribution networks up to 33kV

* Strong background in HV switching, safety documentation and fault management

* Good understanding of electrical safety rules and network diagrams

* Confident communicator with the ability to lead teams on site

* High level of safety awareness and decision-making skills

Qualifications

* Current SSE Senior Authorised Person authorisation up to and including 33kV (essential)

* Full UK driving licence

* First Aid, manual handling and relevant safety training
