Transport Planner

Leeds
Salary: up to £35,000.00

Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Transport Planner to join our client's team at their Leeds depot. You'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the delivery fleet, which includes up to 130 vehicles ranging from vans to artics.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and schedule vehicle routes to maximise efficiency and ensure timely deliveries.
Allocate drivers and vehicles in line with operational needs and legal requirements (e.g. drivers' hours, Working Time Directive).
Liaise with customers, drivers, and depot teams to maintain high service levels.
Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety standards, and transport legislation.
Produce transport reports and analyse performance to identify areas for improvement.
Support the wider transport team during peak periods and coordinate across multiple depots.

Experience:

Proven experience in a transport planning role, ideally within multi-temperature or FMCG logistics.
Experience planning 40+ multi drop routes per day.
Strong working knowledge of UK geography and routing systems.
Familiarity with transport compliance, driver hours, and fleet operations.
Proficiency in Paragon, TMS, and Microsoft Office.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
