Service Manager – Business Development

Applications are invited for the role of Service Manager Business Development with Orkney Islands Council’s Marine Services.

• Develop and coordinate the Department’s Business Development Strategy across the port estate, including the Oil Port of Scapa Flow and the harbours of Kirkwall and Stromness.
• Oversee direct and indirect sales of port‑related services.
• Advise the Harbour Master and Council leadership on market trends.
• Demonstrate positive growth in sales revenue as a result of the business‑development strategy.

• Substantial experience in a business and marketing field, ideally maritime related.
• Proven successful track record of developing and implementing marketing and business‑development strategies.
• Qualification at SCQF level 8/9 (e.g., SVQ4, HND, General Degree) or a minimum of 5 years of previous relevant experience.
• Ability to travel nationally and internationally and efficiently travel between Orkney locations.
• Level 1 Disclosure Scotland clearance.
