Profile

The Aircraft Technical Project Manager plays a critical role in overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of avionics modification projects. This role involves direct customer coordination, technical oversight, and cross-functional team leadership to ensure compliance, efficiency, and quality throughout the project life cycle. This position is based in Breslau, Ontario, and requires candidates to hold a valid Avionics E license.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding scheduling, purchase orders, and travel arrangements.
  • Conduct aircraft surveys to identify optimal modification design solutions.
  • Review internal drawings to ensure technical accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate travel, accommodations, and transportation for the crew.
  • Manage manpower allocation and scheduling across departments for ongoing modifications.
  • Liaise with third-party vendors as needed to support project execution.
  • Maintain and update project data tracking tools and data tracking programs for projects.
  • Provide technical data and documentation packages to support the projects.
  • Oversee parts and component requirements to ensure timely project completion.
  • Review STC projects for omissions and compliance.
  • Review Task Cards and Additional work documents for accuracy.
  • Mentor crews for installation procedures, providing guidance and technical assistance.
  • Troubleshoot installation issues and coordinate engineering support as required.
  • Prepare Engineering Request documentation to address installation challenges.
  • Compile all Return-to-Service documentation and review for accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinate final aircraft inspections and flight permit arrangements.
  • Prepare installation compliance documentation including Modification Reports, Weight and Balance calculations, and logbook entries.
  • Calculate and document electrical load changes.
  • Review and validate work orders and associated documentation.
  • Provide technical data and post-installation support to customers.
  • Respond to customer inquiries about troubleshooting and snag rectification.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company-approved manuals.
Qualifications
  • Shall hold current AME E Transport Canada license.
  • Proven technical aptitude with a minimum of 10 years’ experience.
  • Experienced leading teams.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time.
  • A broad range of experience in testing and troubleshooting electrical, navigation, communication, and flight controls systems.
  • Experience on corporate aircraft;
    De Havilland DHC 8 series and CL415/215 aircraft is considered an asset.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
  • Flexibility to work shift work and overtime may be required.
  • Must be available to travel for occasional AOG recovery operations or for short periods of time for offsite support.
  • Possess a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
  • Able to work effectively, independently and as part of a team.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
