A privately held Canadian Company, we are a successful supply chain partner providing “Intelligent Delivery” of products and solutions to the Industrial, Environmental, and Plastics industries. We currently operate two manufacturing sites in Colborne and Elmira Ontario and have supporting warehouses and sales representatives across Canada and in the Northeastern United States.
Position: Assistant Shift Engineer
Location: CCC Sulphur Products Manufacturing Plant,
60 First Street East, Elmira, ON.
Reports to:
Production Manager
CCC Sulphur Products (Sulco Chemicals Limited) is a manufacturer of sulphuric acid and sodium bisulphite. The Elmira facility operates a 200MT acid plant as well as a 960kW cogeneration plant.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain a high level of safety and environmental standards.
- Assist the Shift Engineer with operation of a TSSA certified 2nd class steam plant, a 200MT acid production process, and a 960kW steam turbine cogeneration plant.
- Complete bulk acid loading/unloading into trucks and railcars.
- Perform lab testing to sustain process water quality and effluent systems.
- Become proficient and competent in all aspects of site operations including packaging processes.
- Effectively communicate with customers, contractors, and neighboring facilities as required.
- Provide support to the Shift Engineer and maintenance staff as required.
- Uphold 5S housekeeping practices.
- Work a rotating, continental day/night shift schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Valid TSSA 4th Class Operating Engineer’s ticket or progress towards certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a post-secondary Power Engineering program or equivalent
- 2-3 years relevant work experience
- Experience in chemical manufacturing.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification
