Position: Library Assistant | Libraries | Wyre & Fylde | Part Time Hours |

Library Assistant | Lancashire Libraries | Wyre & Fylde | Part Time Hours

Salary £25,185 - £25,989 per annum | Permanent | Part Time | Various Hours | Wyre & Fylde.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Assisting customers with accessing digital resources and information.
  • Supporting the planning and delivery of events (e.g., author events, class visits).
  • Engaging with customers to promote reading for pleasure.
Locations and Working Hours
  • Freckleton & Ansdell Libraries – 15.5 hours per week
  • Knott End Library – 16 hours per week
  • Fleetwood Library – 7 hours per week
  • Kirkham Library – 16 hours per week

You will be appointed to a library base(s), but there will be an expectation that you will work at other libraries as required. Hours of work are listed against the available posts and are a set working pattern over two weeks; see attachment for rotas.

Our ideal person will be welcoming and friendly, have a love for reading and be passionate about sharing this. You will have excellent communication and digital skills, be able to work with a range of stakeholders and deliver a customer‑focused service.

Interview Process

Part 1 – Assessment day (approx 1 hour) includes a meeting with a manager, a library tour, and short assessments.

Part 2 – Interview (details to be confirmed).
